Belle Vale by the sea!

Posted by Sam on July 29, 2008 1:45 PM

Apologies for taking so long to update the old blog. Been mad around here and well I forgot yes I know that is truly terrible!

On Friday I went along to a community event at Belle Vale Park which I have to say was absolutely fantastic. Not only did they have brilliant weather hundreds of people turned up and were obviously enjoying themselves. Even the local PCSO had her face painted!!

I thought there would be a lot more community events like this if there have been and we haven't been told about them that is a real shame. If there haven't then there needs to be more!!

Here is the video.

Tall Ships 1

Posted by Sam on July 22, 2008 10:34 AM

Over the Tall Ships visit I did four videos. They are on the websites but I thought I would put them all on here too.
What a shame the Tall Ships aren't an annual occurrence. I have never seen so many people queue to go into the Albert Dock and the Wellington Dock.
It was very impressive from where I was-not a bad thing to do as part of your every day job!!
Unfortunately I was off yesterday and missed the Parade of Sail- I bet it was the best bit!!!
Things are really gearing up now too. I ma really looking forward to the Imagine festival which starts on August 1st for ten days. Definitely one to take the kids to.

Wavertree Church of England School

Nursery and Reception class at Wavertree Primary celebrated Liverpool's Capital of Culture year with a play entitled 'Celebrate 08'
I went along today to meet the kids who all looked adorable in their little outfits.
In the play they danced and sung to famous 60s tracks.
Lovely to see the little ones getting in the spirit of the Culture year.

Maghull Arts College presents..........

Posted by Sam on July 3, 2008 5:15 PM

On Monday I went to watch Maghull Arts College in association with MADCOS (the group of schools in the area) put on 'Tales from the Melling Road' which was an amazing success.

It was written and directed by Alistair Hewitt and was based on the 1997 bomb scare on the day of the Grand National.

If you look back at my posts I did a video of Be My Guest awhile back. It is a community project which is part of the Four Corners programme which was commissioned by the Culture Company.

I went down to the Bluecoat last night to see the Four Corners project and I can't stress enough how brilliant the work is. So many people from the communities in and around Liverpool have been involved.

Below is the story I wrote about it in case you missed it in the paper
