LIVERPOOL ONE!!!!

Posted by Sam on May 29, 2008 5:52 PM

Liverpool One is fantastic! I don't think they needed any of the entertainment that they had on today the shops were fantastic enough.
I went to the top of the Hilton too to get some good shots for my videos.
If you haven't been already then you should definitely go!!

Streets Ahead Festival.

Posted by Sam on May 27, 2008 10:41 AM

I went along yesterday to the Streets Ahead festival on day three of the bank holiday weekend event.
It was a fantastic event and apparently I didn't even get to the best bits!! On Saturday and Sunday evenings there were aerial displays at St George's Hall.
I really enjoyed what I did see. The best bit for me were the shop displays on Bold Street. The live Mannequins really freaked some people out which had me in stitches!
I do hope Streets Ahead becomes a yearly May bank holiday event as I think a lot of people really enjoyed it-thousands of people took part.

John Lennon exhibition

Posted by Sam on May 27, 2008 10:19 AM

We were all quite shocked here last week when the looming face of John Lennon suddenly appeared in our lobby.
Most of us had no idea that there was soon to be an exhibition on our very own doorstep dedicated to his art work.
I went along with our Beatles guru Peter Grant to have a little look.
There are limited editon prints on offer some for the very reasonable price of £6700. There are others that the more modest pocket could stretch to. His colourful prints are on sale for around £500.
I really enjoyed looking around it was fantastic. I haven't seen much of his artwork before so if you are a fan you should def go for a look. Check out my video in the extended version of this story .....

The Queen's visit

Posted by Sam on May 23, 2008 1:23 PM

I had hoped to put my video for her majesty's visit on here yesterday but it was a mad day. Was on my feet and waiting for about six hours and then had to concentrate on editing which is not an easy or quick process.
I have never seen the Queen before and have never been that fussed or impressed by royal visits.
Probably because I had never been to one!! I actually quite enjoyed it despite the stress!!
The crowd was what made the day in my opinion. Thousands turned out. Maybe not as many as there might once have been but I was impressed.
Anyway below is a video of my small part in yesterday's operation.

Nick Peet's Great 08 challenge part two

Posted by Sam on May 19, 2008 3:40 PM

As you know I have been following Echo sports journalist Nick Peet as he embarks on his Great 08 challenge. On Saturday at Bangor on Dee races Nick raced agaisnt two jockey's and managed to beat them past the post. See the video below for fun from the day (actually it was slightly miserable as it rained all day!!)

Be My Guest

Posted by Sam on May 16, 2008 2:43 PM

Below is a video of community initiative Be My Guest. It is a performance patched together from the memories of people in South Liverpool.
I thought the performance was amazing which may or may not come across in the video.
The performance will next be shown at the Bluecoat 2nd-7th July.

The work Ruth and her team have done is fantastic. I didn't know what to expect when I went down to Speke Baptist Church but I had a thoroughly enjoyable time and I recommend everyone go down and see it.

Museum of Liverpool 3

Posted by Sam on May 6, 2008 4:58 PM

Here is the third video in the Museum of Liverpool series for you to look at. It has really changed. I apologise that it isn't very long but it started to rain and I didn't want the camera to get wet!!
