Apologies for being quiet this week.
I am in the middle of various projects and stories.
Yesterday I met two inspiring youngsters which have taken part in a documentary called 'High Hopes' ................
'High Hopes' is partly funded by the culture company and is a documentary that has followed kids from Liverpool and Stavanger for the past couple of years to see how they have developed.
I spoke to Pip and Craig two of the Liverpool kids yesterday.
Pip is 17 and a single mum. She became pregnant with Lewis when she was 14. For a 17-year-old she has her head firmly screwed on and is clearly a loving and doting mum. An aspiring actress in musical theatre she agreed to take part in the documentary, filmed by firsttake on Hope Street, to show other young mums that a baby doens't mean the end of their lives. Pip used the challenge of having a baby so young to spur her ambition on. She says that there isn't just her to think of.
A beautiful and radiant young woman she will obviously go far and is busy getting her Btec qualification and is hoping to study further. She has recently been in a short feature film.
Taking part in the documentary should hopefully boost her profile.
The programme, which will hopefully be aired in the Uk, has already been snapped up in Morway, Finland, Ireland and Iceland amongst others.
18-year-old Craig has already benfitted from the show. He creates house music and dreams of becoming a world-class star. He is already in talk of a record deal and I am hoping to get some of his tracks on to the website for people to hear.
He too is bright and ambitious and it is great to see him reaching for his goals. He is concentrating on getting his degree so he has something to fall back on in case music doesn;t work for him.
I will be putting a video on the web about them in the near future so watch out for it.
Samx
